Girls: Top 5 Reasons You Should Work Out With Your BF in the gym!

With bathing suit season just around the corner, it’s pretty safe to assume that us girls will be looking to really step up our game over the coming months in order to look and feel our absolute best when we hit the beach, or even simply our back yards whilst sunbathing.
Working out, although a real pain in the butt at times, is one of the most effective ways of achieving a body that we’ve always dreamed of which is why we tend to spend so many hours in the gym each week.
If you’re like most women you see in the gym and you train alone, why not consider working out with your boyfriend instead? Studies have shown that couple who work out together can reap numerous benefits and rewards which is why we’ve compiled this list for you.
When it comes to working out, rather than choosing separate gyms, or going at different times, why not train together instead? Here are the top 5 reasons why you should work out with your boyfriend.
You can motivate each other
When we go to the gym, we go to get things done! We don’t go to simply go through the motions and pass an hour or two, we go to burn fat, build and/or tone our muscles, improve our health and fitness, and just generally look and feel better about ourselves.
If you’ve ever trained alone, you’ll find that it can often be hard to find the motivation to really push yourself and make your workouts really productive.
By training with your boyfriend, not only will you be able to motivate him, he will be able to motivate you and help you to really go the extra mile.
He will be able to encourage you, to assist you when needed, to offer help and advice, and really spur you on and help you push yourself that little bit harder.
As well as the above, there’s also the competitive factor as although you probably won’t admit it, you won’t want to look weak and pathetic in front of your BF and so you may work just that little bit harder to prove that you’re not just some weak and pathetic girl.
You have fun
Let’s face it, although necessary, working out shouldn’t be a chore and it shouldn’t make you miserable or bored.
Training alone can cause both of the above which is another great reason why so many couples are now training together all over the world.
Your BF should also be your friend and somebody that you enjoy spending time with, and that should include working out together in the gym.
You can chat with each other in-between sets, have a laugh and a joke, and actually enjoy spending time in each other’s company.
Safety
Gyms can be dangerous places and just one wrong move with a machine or a piece of equipment could result in very serious injuries instead.
That’s why working out with a spotter is always recommended.
Why not go one better and use your BF as your spotter, and you return the favour with him.
When lifting weights for example, you can keep an eye on each other and make sure you’re doing the exercises correctly and safely.
If you try using a weight that is too heavy for example, if you were alone the weight could fall on you, pin you to the bench, break bones, or even kill you.
If the weight is too heavy and you’re with your BF however, he will be able to tell and will give you a helping hand to re-rack the weight, strip a plate or two off, and try again with a lighter weight.
Training together helps strengthen your relationship
Another fantastic reason why you may want to train with your BF is the fact that numerous studies have proven that couples that train together are far more likely to stay together and working with one another could actually strengthen your relationship.
Think about it, how many couples do you know that have actual hobbies and pastimes that they both enjoy doing together.
We’re not talking about days out, we’re talking about actual activities and hobbies.
The guy may enjoy playing sports whilst the girl may enjoy shopping for clothes and shoes.
By training together you’re actually strengthening your relationship because not only do you get to spend quality time together away from the TV and distractions at home, you also have an interest, a passion, and goals in common with one another.
The more things in common you have with one another, the stronger and healthier your relationship will become.
Treating each other on special occasions is easier
When it comes to gifts and surprises, generally speaking your guy may surprise you with flowers, chocolates, and/or wine, and you generally go with beer and/or pizza.
If you train together however, you know very well what each of you likes and needs when it comes to the gym.
Instead of gas station flowers, your guy may surprise you with a new set of running shoes or leggings perhaps.
You yourself could treat him to some new protein powder or workout gear.
The bottom line is that as you both have something in passion and a shared interest, you learn more about each other and you know which gifts and treats would be suitable for one another as well.
